Backflow
What Is Backflow?
Backflow is a potentially hazardous situation for pool owners, as it can cause contamination of the household drinking supply. When water flow reverses in a pipe it is called backflow. Water moving in the opposite direction can run into your water supply, causing a host of problems, including contamination.
How To Prevent Backflow
Backflow problems can be prevented by taking the proper precautions when filling your pool. If you intend to use a water hose to fill your pool, ensure that it is paired with a hose bib vacuum breaker. This breaker can be fitted to the faucet supplying the water hose.
