Bathroom Remodeling Estimate

Variables
It is difficult to provide an accurate bathroom remodeling estimate because there are so many variable elements. For example, are you remodeling your bathroom with a bathtub or are you remodeling your bathroom with a shower? Your bathroom estimate naturally depends on how involved your bathroom remodeling gets.

The bathroom remodeling estimates range anywhere from $5,000 to up to $30,000 if you’re planning to install things like a Jacuzzi. Even with your small bathroom, a full remodeling of it will cost you, on the average, up to $8,000 if you’re thinking about hiring a contractor (and you may consider hiring one – they save you a lot of trouble and time).

If you hope to make your bathroom remodeling an entirely DIY project, you need to keep in mind to have all of your tools, your bathroom floor layouts, your bathroom remodeling pictures for reference and all of your bathroom remodeling materials ready.

Your do it yourself bathroom remodeling project that includes upgrading of all your bathroom fixtures and additionally some tiles for the shower (use second-hand ones – you can get those at flea markets or specialty shops) as well as fixing bathtub or shower enclosure and adding new trims around bathroom window frames and replacing bathroom faucets, could cost you around $5,000.

This is a reasonable bathroom remodeling estimate – remember bathroom remodeling is a good project to invest in, especially if you plan to ever sell your house – no reason why you shouldn’t be able to remodel your bathroom in terms of functionality and style. The only con of bathroom remodeling this way is, of course, the fact that you do have to spend a lot of time on your project.

When you hire contractors to remodel your bathroom, your costs will go up – expect to pay anywhere between $7000 to $10,000 if you supply all the bathroom fixtures as well as bathroom tile (there’s an extra charge for a tiling labor so you may want to add a couple thousand to your original bathroom remodeling estimate). Painting or drywall are extra as well, you will also spend more if you decide to move or add electrical or plumbing fixtures. Perhaps hire contractors to do all the bathroom remodeling that you’re unable to do and leave painting and installing easy bathroom fixtures to yourself.

If your bathroom remodeling includes changing bathroom fixtures or fixing plumbing you will spend $1,000 and up. If the labor is more complicated, the costs of bathroom remodeling go up.

When you have your bathroom remodeling estimate ready, remember to always take into account any extras such as updating your bathroom’s décor, for example, additional bathroom lightning fixtures, new bathroom rugs and new shower curtains can add to up to $500. Consider investing in necessary bathroom fixtures first and buying bathroom design elements once you have all the bathroom remodeling done.
