Calcium Hardness
Well-balanced pool water needs to have the appropriate amount of dissolved calcium, so it is necessary to test for this. Calcium hardness is a measure of the dissolved calcium in your pool's water. Too much calcium in the water can result in scaling while too little calcium can result in corrosion. Calcium hardness is measured in parts per million and ideally, should be in the range of 200 and 1000ppm.
To ensure a well-balanced pool, test for calcium hardness at least twice per season. This will prevent loss of equipment due to corrosion and scaling.
