Cleaning Tips, Cleaning Products And Cleaning Supplies

Selling or renting out your home. Visitors coming in from out of town. A new baby on the way. That hot guy or girl you’ve been dating coming over for dinner… and possibly staying for breakfast. These are all excellent reasons to grab hold of a few cleaning products and cleaning supplies and clean up your home!

In the Eye of the Beholder
Of course, this isn’t as easy as it sounds. For most of us, "clean" means that our beds are made, the clutter on our desks or dresser tops has been stacked into a neat pile and there are no visible stains, spider webs or dust bunnies on the furniture or floor. It’s easy to forget to clean less visible areas of our homes, like narrow spaces between furniture, the edges between the carpet and the wall or the gradually graying layer of film on the floor of the bathtub.

Tools of the Trade
Fortunately, this website will help ensure your cleaning is complete. Before you start cleaning, make sure you have the following cleaning supplies:

  • Mop and Bucket: to scrub away dirt and grime on tiled floors, like in bathrooms and kitchens
  • Broom and Dustpan: to sweep dust and debris off hardwood floors
  • Vacuum cleaner: to suck dust and debris off of carpeted floors
  • Duster: to clear dust and cobwebs out of higher up, hard-to-reach areas, like the corners of ceilings
  • Dry rags: to rub dust and debris off of various surfaces, such as tabletops, bookshelves and stair banisters. Also useful for wiping dust and stains off of windows when used in conjunction with a cleaning spray
  • Sponge: to scrub stains off of linoleum and ceramic surfaces
  • Scraper: particularly useful if you have small children and find sticky substances, like bubble gum or play dough, clinging to the floor
  • Rubber gloves: to ensure that your hands are kept clean and germ-free no matter how dirty the area you are cleaning!

Doing the Job
Once you’ve assembled all the cleaning supplies above (keeping in mind that not all of them will apply to your home!), it’s time to make sure you have the correct cleaning products. Must-haves include:

  • Window/glass cleaning spray
  • Drain cleaner (for sinks and toilets)
  • Floor detergent
  • Vacuum bags (if applicable)
  • Household disinfectants

Now you're ready to tackle your home from top to bottom and have it gleam by the end of the day. So turn up the music, grab the vacuum and get going!
