Coping

In order to maintain a pool's shape and to hold it's liner in place, a tile or lip is installed around the edge of the pool. This edge is called coping. Coping lends a finished look to any pool or spa, and can be made out of a variety of materials. Some coping comes prefabricated while more expensive coping can be formed or cast according to need.

Coping in an inground pool generally serves to hold the vinyl liner in the right position. However, high quality coping helps a pool to keep its shape. It allows the walls of the pool to remain straight and rigid.
