General Information

If you have the space, installing your own swimming pool is a great way to add a new focus to your backyard. Nowadays, there are numerous styles and sizes to choose from, maing it even easier to find the right one for your home.

Before you start building though, do some research to find out which pool is right for you. There are in-ground and above-ground pools, which both have their pro's and con's. However the main swimming pool components are the same for both types of pools.

Pools do require maintenance, but doing this regularly will help keep your pool in top shape. Using the right kind of pool chemicals is also important when it comes to the up-keep of your pool.

As much fun as pools can be, they can also pose a safety risk. Make sure you know all about pool safety before you invite the neighbours over for the inaugural swim.
