Gunite

Gunite is a material used to help build pools. When sand and cement are spray-mixed together, the resulting compound is called gunite. The gunite is brought to the site dry, and water is added when the gunite is applied. Plaster is then applied over the gunite. A plaster-like finish is then painted over the gunite, to protect it from the water and chemicals in the pool.

Gutters in your pool are those areas where water overflows and is then recirculated back into the pool. Most pools with gutters will not have skimmers. Gutters must be maintained on a regular basis as they can trap dirt.
