Jacuzzi
We often use the word Jacuzzi to describe any type of spa or hot tub, but it is actually a brand name. The Jacuzzi brothers began the company when they immigrated to the United States at the beginning of the twentieth century. They started out developing aviation technology, and actually created the first plane with an enclosed cabin. In the 1950s, Jacuzzi became interested in helping arthritis sufferers, and developed the portable hydrotherapy pump.
The Jacuzzi company was carried on by a third-generation member of the family, who sensed consumer interest in the growing health and fitness market. From this, Jacuzzi created the first whirlpool, complete with fully-integrated jets.
