Mending Holes in Flashing
To patch a hole in damaged flashing, follow these steps:
| 1. | Clean the surface around the hold as well as rough up the texture with a stiff wire brush or sandpaper. Clean the surface of any grit or residue. Cut a patch of flashing material so that it extends outside the hole by 2 inches on all sides. |
| 2. | Slather the hole and the surrounding area with roofing cement and press the patch firmly over the damaged section for about 3 minutes. Now cover the patch with another generous layer of cement. |
