Proper Swimming Pool Building Permits

You should keep open lines of communication with your builders. Don’t just assume that your builders have all of the necessary permits. There are five different permits needed for the construction of a pool. Your contractor should have already obtained these, but as they deal with your property, make sure they are completed.

Building Permit
A building permit is required for construction of all swimming pools.

Electrical Permit
An electrical permit is required for all electrical installations such as electrical pumps, heaters, circuits, motors and switches.

Mechanical Permit
A mechanical permit is required for installation of propane heaters where 100 gallons or more of propane will be stored.

Plumbing Permit
A plumbing permit is required for installation of natural gas heaters.
