Question: Just curious what is your opinion of divided light windows. Will they go with a newer house?

Answer: I tend to be a purist when it comes to architectural elements in a house, but not everyone lives in an Arts and Crafts or Prairie style home. I love divided light windows, but think they look best with an old house or one where the contractor has done a good job of making it look old. If your house has some of the other features of that era – low lying roofs, stained glass windows, a sleeping porch if it's an Arts and Crafts style – then it could work. I would talk with a good windows contractor or architect if you're replacing all your windows. That is a sizable investment and you want to make sure it blends in with the house. Also think about adding period style light fixtures or things with copper accents to bring in the whole look.
