Q&A | Roofing : Does Flashing Need to Be Replaced During Re-Roof

Title of Question: Does Flashing Need to Be Replaced During Re-Roof

Name:Tom  City: St Paul MN
Question: We need to replace our Shigles after 14 years, bad product I'm told. Some roofers bid the project with reusing the existing flashing on wall runs, others want to replace the flashing and use a Riglet flashing. We have a stucco house and I'm concerned about them grinding the groove for the riglet, as well as how long the seal will last. Also, I do not like the look of the Riglet vs the current flashing that is behind the stucco. If the current flashing is in good shape, does it need to be replaced? Thanks
