Answer: Hi Carol! You'll actually have a better time getting the egg off of vinyl siding than if you had wood siding or aluminum siding. Egg can take the paint right off of wood or vinyl siding. Because vinyl siding's colorant is embedded throughout it, though, at most you risk a slight discoloration. To remove the egg, mix up a solution of one part dishwashing soap (the liquid for hand washing, rather than the powder used in your dishwasher), one part white vinegar, and one part water. Apply this mixture to the affected siding, let it soak into the egg for a few minutes, and then scrub it gently with a cloth. This mixture should take the egg right off. Give the siding a rinse, and you're good to go. If the siding was badly discolored by the egg, you might want to replace the affected strip. This is a pretty easy do-it-yourself project. I hope, though, that you'll find your siding undamaged once you get it cleaned off.
