Title of Question: Fence posts installation in wet soil
Name: John Hendrickson City:Question: I have damp soil along my fence line and my fence leans in the spring until the soil drys out, then I can repair it. I want to replace my fence now and eliminate the problem, any suggestions, Lots of sand around the hole for the posts?
Name: Lanny Ross | Date: October 17, 2004, 21:00 Answer: Use sand as backfill, the water should help compact the sand around the post. If you use concrete it may not flex with your land as well as just plan old sand. When placing the sand water it in the hole, it should dry out and be solid...
