Question: I've got a window well whose rim only goes as high as the ground. As such, when it rains the water flows over the rim and into the well. It appears the well wasn't securely fastened to the exterior wall so there's a small gap between the well and the wall, allowing water through. I was planning to fill this gap by bolting the well to the wall, then using caulk to fill the gap. I was also going to install a plastic well cover, and add some soil around the well to try and divert water away from the well. Is there anything else I can do?
