Title of Question: GFCI problem

Name: Gary    City: Clinton

Question: I put 5 gfci outlets in our kitchen remodel. Ran a 12-3 with ground to them. So the 1st, 3rd, & 5th are on one circuit, 2nd & 4th on the other. They all share the white and ground wires. The red & black are wired to each switch like the directions describe. The problem is when I plug something in and run it the gfci trips imediately. Do I need to pig tail the power line not being used at each outlet instead of running it through the gfci?
