| Answer: Hi Deb!
It sounds as though your weather stripping needs to be replaced. The weather stripping is the line of rubber or rubber-like material that runs along the very bottom of the door. See if it is cracked or otherwise damaged. If so, remove it from the door. To do this, you'll probably need to uncrimp one of the ends of the track holding the weather stripping in place. You can use a screwdriver for this. Next, slide the weather stripping out from its track, and take it with you to the hardware store. This is important because there are many sizes of weather stripping. You'll need to have an example piece to ensure a good tight fit. Spray some lubricant onto the weather stripping track, and slide the new piece into place. Recrimp the end that you had uncrimped, and you're done! |
