| Answer: Oh, the joys of home improvement with kids! The main thing you need to do here is to add a piece of wood that attaches horizontally to the studs in the wall. You should be able to see the studs with your new wall opening. Find the biggest piece of wood you can find that will fit in the space and position the wood so that it will be behind where the towel bar anchor will go. Use screws to attach it. Then cut out a piece of drywall to fit in the hole, coming as close as you can to the exact shape. Attach the drywall, tape, and mud. Then you'll be ready to prime and paint. |
