Q&A | Heating and Cooling : Piping cool basement air to the second floor

Title of Question: Piping cool basement air to the second floor

Name:Scoop Burt  City: Columbus
Question: I have a house that was originally a 1 store and had the attic converted into living space. The problem is that the ceiling is against the rafters. During the winter we have to run the AC at 62 degrees just to make it bearable upstairs. I have considered buying a furnace blower mounting it in a box with a HEPA filter and piping that air up to the second floor. At the same time I'm considering putting a gable fan in to suck out the air I have measured as high as 92 degrees with the ac on in the summer. Is this a bad idea? Will it work or am I just wasting time and money? Thanks for your help
