Answer: Sealing a fence is a good home improvement project for anyone with some painting experience, but it does require patience! You'll need to decide between a clear sealer that does not change the color of the wood or a sealer with a stain that will change the color. If you have a paint spray, this can make the job easier, unless you are sealing around a lot of bushes. In that case, it often is less messy to do it with a roller and brush. Clean the fence with damp rags and let it dry a day or two. Seal it when you have a few days without rain. Apply the sealer and back brush it on to remove any drips (particularly necessary with a sprayer). Good luck!
