| Answer: Hi Chris,
This is such a great question! So often, you don't realize you need a tool until there's a job to do and you don't have it. First of all, you'll need some screwdrivers. Two standard and two Philips head are a good bet. Add an adjustable wrench, some pliers, and a claw hammer. A level and a tape measure are essential for hanging pictures. You should have a jar of assorted nails and screws for minor repairs. Clamps or vise grips and wood glue are helpful for furniture repairs. I personally have never needed a saw, but a lot of people would recommend that you have a hacksaw and a handsaw. A utility knife can take on minor cutting tasks. A putty knife is good for filling holes in walls. Electrical tape and duct tape are always helpful, as is WD-40 or a similar lubricant. Finally, get some goggles and gloves to protect your eyes and hands while you do your repairs. |
