Title of Question: Using closed area for return duct 4 AC instead of duct work
Name: Dana City: Pittsburgh
Question: HI, I have an interesting question. I am currently getting AC installed in my home. I now have radiator heat (a boiler) and an adding Central Air, we have place the unit in the basement and work up to second floor and into attic. Vents are in floor on first level and in ceiling on second level. They have boxed in with drywall the area on the first floor and second floor where main flexible duct is being run. I asked where the return duct was and they said they use the now enclosed walls to pull the air and no duct work is needed for a return duct. Is this correct and efficient, or the cheapest way out? Please help. Thank you......
