Question: I'm looking at buying new windows for a sunroom and can't decide between double hung or casement. Is one better than another?

Answer: I wouldn't say that one style of replacement window is necessarily better than another, as it really is personal preference. There are some things to consider, however, when deciding between these options. What style are your other windows? Often it is a good idea to match them, although not everyone does that. Double hung windows are your classic, traditional style windows that look great in older houses or newer, traditional ones. Casement windows are more contemporary and they also let in more of a breeze. The one downside is that you have to watch where the window swings out. It may block a path near your patio or deck, for example. Also, look for durability, good construction and good insulation.
