| Question: hello, i've just a quick question...
i just got a house, in the family room - there're carpet and hardwood floor in the kitchen ... right at the edge where the carpet and the hard wood floor meets - there're nails pop out, i was walking and i already got a few holes bleeding on my toes :-)
i was doing a search but don't know what they call that thing i can use to cover the line...carpet padding, carpet trim ... etc. but no lucks ...
can someone tell me what it's called?

Post Your Answer To The Question Above:
| Answer: I hope I'm understanding your question correctly. The area where the two floors meet is called a threshold. It sounds as if you need a threshold to put over the nails. I would recommend wood to match the wood floor, assuming there is already a metal piece securing the carpeting. Usually there is a thin metal threshold holding down the carpet and, depending on your floor height, you can put a wood one up to it. You just don't want to create too much of a step up or you'll be tripping on that. Any home improvement store will have thresholds. I hope this helps. |
