Question: How should I clean exterior aluminum (poles and furniture) that is curoded and oxidixed? Will vinigar work? How should it be used?

Answer: Hi Jaquie! It's easy to clean things like aluminum pots, pans, and silverware with vinegar because you can simply mix up some vinegar and water and simmer it in one of the pots on the stove. For bigger pieces of aluminum, though, I'd recommend silver polish. It should take care of the corrosion, and because it's available in a paste, it will be a lot easier to apply than the vinegar. If the polish does not specifically say that it can be used on aluminum, I'd spot test it in an inconspicuous place before you commit to using it on a bigger or more visible area. You want to avoid using any alkaline cleaning products on your aluminum, such as some soaps and baking soda, because they might discolor the metal. Hope this works for you!
