Post Your Answer To The Question Above:
| Answer: Hi Morris! Some efflorescence tends to be common in new brick installations. It happens when the brick is more damp than its surroundings. The water leaves the brick, carrying deposits of salts to the surface. The easiest way to remove these is to use a stiff brush to sweep them away. If this is not helping, you can also use some water and a brush to scrub them off, or a power washer filled with water to wash them away. Muriatic acid is often recommended for removing efflorescence, but you should be careful if you go this route, because the acid can etch or discolor your bricks. The best route is to simply sweep the deposits away while the bricks are dry. |
