| Answer: Hi Jamie! The holes should be placed so that they are facing down. If the pipes were installed so that the holes were on top, they would not be nearly as effective. When the holes are on the top, they can easily get clogged with dirt, blocking the water from entering the pipes. Also, with the holes on the top, water has a much smaller chance of finding its way into the holes. When the holes are on the bottom of the pipe, water is drawn up through them and into the pipe much more effectively. |
