Question: I was thinking whether I should built my own pond or get a contractor. Does anyone have any experience out there?

Answer: Build a 1200 gal goldfish pond last spring with a waterfall. Dig hole the way you want put down a underliner then the heavy duty fish safe. Use a good pump and filter with plants plants plants in and out of the water. Fish made it ok thru the mild winter at 24" deep. You need deeper for cooler regions. Good Luck and enjoy!
