Answer: The answer depends on the size of the patio, the type of material and installation, and the number of people working on it. If this is a DIY project, you could spend three to four weekends on it by yourself. Uniform materials, such as bricks, concrete pavers, square concrete sections, etc. are easier to install than materials you have to cut and piece together, such as flagstone. One way to speed up the process is to hire landscapers to dig out the space, as its very labor intensive for you, but a breeze for five guys who do this every day. Conversely, we just had a 450 square foot brick patio installed by contractors (3 guys) and it took 5 days. It would have taken us 3 to 4 weekends!
