Answer: Hi Steve, There absolutely are some ways to get rid of those brown stains. My advice is to start with the mildest possible cleanser and work your way up to stronger options if the milder ones aren't working. First, try putting some cider or white vinegar on a soft cloth and rubbing at the stains gently. Vinegar is particularly good at getting rid of heat stains on stainless steel, so it sounds perfect for your cook top. You can also make a paste of baking soda and a little bit of water and apply it with a soft cloth. If neither of these options works, you can move on to cleaners made specifically for stainless steel. Make sure that the cleaner you choose does not contain chlorine, which is hard on stainless steel. Instead, look for products that contain ammonia. Test your cleaner on a hidden area of the cook top before applying it all over the surface. When you are done cleaning your cook top, be sure to dry it thoroughly. If you don't, water spots might develop.
