Q&A | Landscape and Landscaping : landscaping ideas for above ground pools

Title of Question: landscaping ideas for above ground pools

Name:Mary  City: New Baltimore
Question: Any ideas for landscaping around an above ground pool that is inexpensive. We have stones now and thought about black (rold)edging, but our ground is clay and difficult to dig. Would brick edging look ok or do you have a better idea? The grass and rocks are now growing together

Answer: I'm not sure if you want to add greenery or definition to the area, but I'll give it a shot. One thought is to buy 12 by 12 concrete pavers from a home improvement store (about $1-$2 each) and make a path or small sitting area around the pool. The pavers have some texture to them so they are somewhat slip resistant, plus it gives you an area to sit or put all your towels, etc. I also like the brick edging idea. You could make it three or four feet wider than the pool and leave room for planting (now or in the future) some shrubs, daylilies, hostas or other greenery that can stand a little water spilling on them. Add in decorative rocks or gravel, too. Good luck!
