Question: Has anyone put up a lattice fence about 24 feet long just for looks? Was wondering how it holds up?

Answer: I don't think lattice is sturdy enough for that size area. We have used lattice in smaller areas (one was to hide an air conditioning unit under a porch) and sections broke just getting them home from the home improvement store. You're going to need some vertical posts if you want to use it for 24 feet. I think you'd be better off with a picket or other style fence built in 6 to 8 foot sections with vertical posts.

Answer: A lattice fence, constructed of correct materials, following proper fabrication procedures, will last as long as any other wooden fence, provided that it is not subject to extreme abuse - I wouldn't recommend it along an alleyway, next to a school zone, to separate large or aggressive dogs, or as a basketball backstop.
