| Answer: Hi Chris,
If the stain is still wet, blot as much as you can up using a paper towel. Remember to blot gently rather than rubbing. Rubbing will just spread out the stain and grind it deeper into the upholstery. Next, wet a towel with nail polish remover that contains acetone. It's a good idea to test it in an inconspicuous spot to make sure that the remover won't take up the dye in the couch upholstery as well as the nail polish. Once you're sure the remover is safe to use, blot at the stain with the remover-soaked towel. Continue blotting using clean parts of the towel until no more pink comes up. Finish up by cleaning the spot with a gentle solution of laundry detergent and water. Make sure that there is no detergent residue, which can attract dirt and turn into a new stain. Good luck with your nail polish removal! |
