Answer: Yes, this can be an effective home improvement project. You'll need to make sure the paneling is clean, then apply a good primer first. If there are any holes to fill, use caulk to fill them. Then paint using a roller or brush or combination of the two. The tricky part is the adhesion. If the paneling has any type of a glossy coating on it, the primer and paint may not stick. Test it in a small area first to see. Good luck.
