Quick And Easy Ways To Stop The Squeak
WD-40 sprayed directly on hinges as you move
the door back and forth on the hinge a few times usually does the trick in seconds.
If you don’t have some type of silicone or graphite spray handy, spray-on
motor or even cooking oil will also work, though the efficacy of cooking oil
may not endure as long. If the squeak persists, remove the door and the hinges,
take out the hinge pin and clean it with steel wool, then give it a light coat
of silicone or motor oil. Reinstall and enjoy the silence.
