Testing Your Circuits for Safety

You know you’ve shut off the right circuit breaker or unscrewed the right fuse. You’re sure without a doubt. Not one scintilla of hesitation in your mind. Now is the time to verify it by testing the circuits before you remove expose or handle wires.

Tip: If you’re the type to rush jobs and avoid testing: DON’T. Your life is worth more than the five or ten minutes you’ll save. If you’re terminally lazy (pun intended), and have access to plenty of natural or battery-powered light, turn off your electrical box’s main power switch or pull out BOTH fuse blocks, just to be sure.
