The NSPI: Your Best Resource On How To Choose A Pool Contractor

If you are at all nervous about the process of choosing a contractor to build your pool, there are resources at your disposal. The best one is probably the NSPI. This stands for the National Spa and Pool Institute. This organization has no legal power but it is often referred to as the authority on ethical building practices for spas, hot tubs and pools. You can find them at www.nspi.org.

The NSPI was founded in 1956 during most of America’s first suburban housing boom. Today the organization has 5,300 members including:

  • Manufactures
  • Distributors
  • Retailers
  • Service companies
All members of the NSPI must adhere to the NSPI code of ethics and standards, which can give you some reassurance that the contractor you hire will be reliable.
