Winter Tips

Winter Weatherproofing
Try some of these winter weatherproofing tips:

  • Be sure to heat your whole house. At least keep doors open to allow air to circulate.
  • Try insulating your pipes to keep them from freezing. Use foam padding sleeves or special insulating tape. You could use newspapers or rags, but don't use them on pipes that could get wet. This will cause them to freeze, which could be scary.
  • Keep any exposed pipes or plumbing fixtures warm. Try using space heaters or lamps, but make sure they are at a safe distance.
  • Run water from every valve in your house at regular intervals.
  • If it gets intensely cold, run a ltitle bit of water from each valve in the house. This will keep it from freezing over.
