Removing Toilet Before Placing New Flooring

Question: I have a smaller bathroom, only 8' x 6', I was wondering it anyone have ever left the toilet attached and places the new flooring around it. i was looking to do vinyl flooring, and possibly cutting the section right behind the toilet and gluing it down. i was wondering if there is anything wrong with doing this.
