Title of Question:

Shower Malfunction

Name: BJ  City:

Question: The shower in my basement bathroom operates normally with the diverter in the up position when taking a shower, but when running a bath with the diverter in the down position, the water still reaches the shower head and pours down the wall. I have removed the tub spout completely to see if the diverter was malfuntioning, but with the same result.

Answer: Try replacing the diverter valve. If that doesn't work the tub/shower faucet may be defective.

Answer: Sounds like you may have debris clogging your Tub/ Shower valve. Depending how old your valve is you may be able to take it apart and clean it out. If not it will have to be replaced. Pos. from the back side of the wall.
