Question: My copper roof over my bay window has turned mostly black. It is 15 yrs old and was coated with a clear coat initially to keep its new look. How do I clean the black color and will I need to remove the clear coat and how?

Answer: Mix 1 part vinegar, 1 part salt, 1 part flour into a paste. You may need to add extra flour to make it thick. Apply it to your roof and let it sit overnight. Rinse it off in the morning and apply a new protective coating of your choice.
