Upgrading Elsectrical Service

Name: Chris  City: Texarkana, TX

Question: I have an older home with a 100amp service. The meter is on the front of the house, the breaker panel is in a closet inside. I want to upgrade to 200amp, but I've been told that panels can no longer be located in closets. Do I need to relocate the entire service?
