Carpet And Hard Wood Floor

Question: hello, i've just a quick question... i just got a house, in the family room - there're carpet and hardwood floor in the kitchen ... right at the edge where the carpet and the hard wood floor meets - there're nails pop out, i was walking and i already got a few holes bleeding on my toes :-) i was doing a search but don't know what they call that thing i can use to cover the line...carpet padding, carpet trim ... etc. but no lucks ... can someone tell me what it's called? thanks
