Dog Saliva Spots On Hardwood Floor

Name: Shirley  City: Washington Crossing

Question: how to remove dog saliva spots on hardwood floor...I have tried many cleaners ...none work...actually it feels like glue when I scrape it off with my finger nail...an oven cleaner pad (green side) works but I can't do the WHOLE floor with a green pad...also tried Isopropyl Alcohol which works great but don't know what the long term damage to the floor might be...any suggestions??/ HELP!

Answer: shirley, did you get an answer to your question about removing dog saliva from your hardwood floors? I too have the same problem, on the lower part of my kitchen cabinets with no solution. I tried both the oven cleaner pad and alcohol but they started taking the finish off my cabinets. Any ideas?

Answer: A credit card or a plastic paper clip has worked for gummy Husky saliva spots on laminated wood floors for me. I used warm water with a good amount of vinegar and then got down close on the floor with a Windex-type spray cleaner, rigid plastic whatever, and paper towel.
