Question: Anyone know of a somewhat easy way of getting glued-down linoleum off of a cement floor?

Answer: Try a heat gun and a scraper.

Answer: cut lino into six inch strips with a sharp knife and then use hammer and chisel

Answer: If the going is too slow with these other methods try a torch and a scraper. More attention to what you are doing is need so you don't hurt yourself or catch anything on fire. It will work though. Heat it enough so that it lifts easy. Not so hot you are melting it.

Answer: Heat gun and a 5" wide putty knife seems to work well. Took me about 30 minutes to get the first 5 square feet removed. but everything comes up cleanly and there is very little glue left behind on the floor if it was properly installed in the first place. I like to remove the entire piece in a single chunk so I can have it as a pattern for the new material, although this may be impossible without a helper.
