Sealing A Wooden Floor For Wet Area/Bathroom

Question: Hi there, Just wondering if anyone out there has some tips on what to use in some gaps of a floor in our bathroom. We have pulled up the carpet (yes carpet in the bathroom) and had the floors polished, and have come accross a spot where there is a gap in the old floor boards and the new ones. Should I use some putty and seal over that with polyurethane, or use a sillicone type product as this may flex a little with movement of the floor? Thanks for any assisiance!
