Question: We discovered a leak in the shower of our bathroom. The joist underneath it is rotten. We currently have to jackstands holding it up. The shower has dropped almost 1" and the bathroom floor tile is cracked. We also have been told that we need to take up the tile on the shower floor and replace the basin where the leak is. How do I fix the joists? Can I level the shower? What is an estim, ate on having someone repair the basin and replace the tile?

Answer: Wow Ron. You seem to have a lot of questions. Based on that I would suggest hiring a professional to do the work. The joist work alone is somewhat detailed especially if you have not done that type of thing. To get into it here would take way too much time. It can be fixed but if you haven't done it before you may create more problems then you have now. Good luck!
