Answer: I know of no paint that would hold-up to the wear and tear that a countertop gets. You may want to look into Formica that gives you the look you want.

Answer: Tina,I am not sure how to make your counter top look like granite but once you have your paint down you will need to coat it with 3-4 coats of floor urathane, this holds up to floor traffic and can hold up to counter wear and tear. Use an oil based paint it will adhere to your top better , and let each coat you put on cure completly. Look into different sites that will teach you how to paint geanite it can;t be too hard.
