Preparation for tile installation

Question: Can any tile be installed over the top of very old brittle, hard linoleum which may have asbestos in it? I would hate to remove the tile first due to health hazards.

Answer: If you dont remove the old brittle stuff, the new will be as old as the brittle. The bond is as good as its weakest link. Ever heard that? Its true in your case. Sorry, it needs to come out.
