removing screws

Question: I screwed brackets into top of wooden window frame and had to remove them.. Only problem, I cannot get them out. I have tried the home stores and brought home differnet tools to fascilitate removing them but nothing has worked. Very frustrating. Helllllllllllp!

Answer: What is the reason you can't remove the screws? Heads stripped or what? Makes a difference if we have to guess.
